If mythology is to be believed, it all started with Indra and Zeus throwing ‘lightning bolts’ at their adversaries. If you are rather critical of mythology and science is what you chew on, let’s pay a tribute to the Greeks in white robes, who rubbed pieces of amber to attract feathers.
Whatever be the preference, history stands testament to the fact that electricity is one of the most fascinating branches of science. Thank God for Benjamin Franklin and his metal key. Thank God for Oersted and his misplaced magnets and thank God electric jolts don’t give life to Frankenstein.
Electrical Engineering has been the guiding force behind most developments in science and technology for ages now. It has been the mainstay of engineering since its inception and will continue to be so. Electricity is, in every sense of the word, power.
